Best Truth Or Dare Questions To Ask Your Kids

There is nothing like a good old fashioned game of truth or dare!  It’s one I remember playing constantly with my best friend and some of my favorite memories are giggling with her while I proudly chose dare (even though I was terrified of the outcome).

It’s such a fun game and one you can play with your own kids!  Now you may not have them running outside in their underwear as I once did, but you will have so much fun laughing with your kids, doing silly things and learning a little more about them with some good truth questions! As far as no-prep activities go, this one is super fun, can be played anywhere and will be one of your kids favorites for sure!

Truth Or Dare Questions For Kids

Girl whispering to her mom and making her laugh

If you are looking for a fun family game that is great for kids of all ages, this is the perfect throwback!  There are a ton of questions below that work for kids of different ages and that will keep your little ones engaged and having fun!

There are fun truth questions that will give you a chance to learn more about your kiddo and then there are just plain silly dare questions that will make you all laugh.  Asking your kids questions is such a fun thing to do and I always find my son has the most interesting answers and sometimes even surprises me with how thoughtful his answers are!  To play truth or dare with just one person (your kiddo) you would take turns asking each other “truth or dare” and then once they choose the category, you ask them a question or give them a dare.

If you are playing with more people/ kids, you have a few options on how you can play.  The first way is the good old fashion way we played where you go in a circle for turns and whoever’s turn it is gets to ask whoever they want “truth or dare”. The only downside to playing this way is that one person may be asked “truth or dare” more than others.  If you want to make it more fair, you could have the person who’s turn it is ask the person next to them “truth or dare” so that everyone gets equal turns.

To play with a wide range of kids, check out the questions and pick ones that are more appropriate to their age. If I was playing with my five year old I may ask them “what is your least favorite food” but I might save “what is something you have always wanted to try, but haven’t yet?” for my older kid.

Or your younger kid might be able to answer any of these questions, do whatever works for you and your kids!

Another great rule to have is the “skip rule”.  My friends and I always debated before we played if we were going to allow “skips” or not.

Basically if you allow “skips”, you can choose to not answer a question or not do a dare.  The nice part of having this rule is that if your kid can’t think of an answer or doesn’t feel comfortable doing the dare, they can have a different question or dare.

Basically this game is so much fun and you can change, create or make rules that fit your kids or family needs.  The goal is to laugh, talk and do silly things together while having a ton of fun!
