Hi! I’m Brenda, owner and CEO of Paper Heart Family.
I’m a mom of two girls and a teacher and live with my husband and two children in Pennsylvania. I teach middle school Spanish and K-12 English Learners. I have a Master’s degree in Spanish Language Education from Nova Southeastern University.
I started my website because I found that I NEEDED a creative outlet after having kids and because I love sharing my motherhood experience and kid activities.
I breastfed my babies for a total of 55 months (wow!), even though both had a milk protein intolerance. It was so hard for me to find the information that I needed to navigate dealing with this, so I started writing about my experience.
I also find the Internet to sometimes get overzealous with elaborate activities for kids. I was inspired to make simple, easy-to-implement activities for busy, tired moms.
When I’m not spending time with my kids or working, I enjoy reading, listening to true crime podcasts, woodworking and singing.
I’m so glad you’re here!
Hi! I’m Allie Groen, writer for Paper Heart Family.
I am in the thick of raising kids with a 5 year old, 3 year old and 4 month old. My husband and I currently live in Arizona where he is attending dental school.
I almost completed my elementary education undergrad at Brigham Young University before having my first daughter. When she arrived I realized I couldn’t student teach and be the mom I wanted to be. I quickly switched majors to human development: family science and finished my degree mostly online. I’m grateful for the background knowledge I have from both majors! The information has helped me so much in my mothering journey.
WhenI’m not running around “momming”, I love to do calligraphy and watercolor. If I have more spare time, you can find me playing the piano or singing.
I hope as I share my thoughts in these articles, you will also find meaningful ideas and they will be a source of hope for you in your parenting journey as well! I love to write (especially about motherhood) and I’m so happy to be a part of Paper Heart Family!
