Halloween is one of those wonderful things I dream about all year. Maybe it’s my love for all things fall or the spooky feels that come when October hits, but I love thinking about costumes, decorations and Halloween games!
I think Halloween (and October in general) are one of those things that you remember really well from your childhood and I know I personally love to make it as special, spooky and fun as possible for my own kiddo. I absolutely love dressing up on Halloween and doing it with my son is so much fun!
I love that he gets to see us enjoy the holiday as adults as much as he does. As a family of three, we are constantly on the hunt for Halloween costume ideas.
It seems like most of the ideas out there are for families of four or more and we often have to cut out one of the main characters for it to work for our family.

1. A League Of Their Own
This iconic movie makes the best family of three costume! Wearing costumes from popular movies is so much fun and always makes for a great conversation Halloween night (especially for people who forgot how much they loved this classic movie!)
This fun family halloween costume features your favorite team, the Rockford Peaches! It’s a super easy costume to put together and requires only pink dresses and a white baseball costume.

2. Little Red Riding Hood
This is the perfect classic costume that features all of the beloved characters from this favorite fairy tale! There are a few options with this family halloween costume idea depending on your family.

Our family loves Starbucks and its often a weekend stop (or a bad habit?) My son LOVES cake pops, I love a latte and my husband is all about those mochas.

Full disclosure, this is by far my favorite family Halloween costume idea and favorite characters of all time! There is just something quirky and spooky about the Addams family that I can’t get enough of.
If you are like me, this is your perfect opportunity to become your one of your beloved characters! Last year I dressed as Wednesday Addams and I LOVED every minute of it.
What was most fun was other peoples reactions to my costume; the Addams family is truly a cult classic and people will be so excited to see your family Halloween night dressed as the whole gang. There are so many character combinations you can do, but dressing as the main characters will do the trick.
Most of the characters require simple clothes like black pants and a black dress (sensing a theme here?) so putting together this trio costume should take you no time at all.
You are sure to be a spooky crew this Halloween, just make sure you know the Addams family classic line: “We gladly feast on those who would subdue us!”
7. Jurassic Park
Welcome to Jurassic Park and the best Halloween costume out there! If you have a kiddo who loves dinosaurs, this costume is perfect!
Dress up your kiddo in their favorite dinosaur’s costume and get ready to explore! Add in Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler with their iconic button downs and beige hiking pants, and you are ready to go!
What I love about this group costume is that it can really include your child’s interest. My kiddo is obsessed with dinosaurs to the point of letting every stranger know his current favorite dinosaur and I know he would be pumped if we dressed up as Jurassic Park characters.
He hasn’t seen the movie, but he has toys from it and totally understands that it’s a dinosaur themed movie. Another fun part is that it is a cult classic film so you are for sure going to get excitement from others about your costume!
Just make sure to throw in classic lines while your out Halloween night like “we spared no expense” or “clever girl” and you will be ready to enter Jurassic Park!

As far as fun family Halloween costumes goes, this one takes the cake (or the drink!)
This costume is so cute and fun and truly puts a smile on my face! It’s colorful and joyful and even would let you carry around your own drink while trick or treating!

What I love most about this family costume is that there are so many major characters in this film that you can choose which ones work best for your family, as long as you have the most beloved characters like Mary Poppins!
I also love that the entire family gets to be fancy on Halloween night! It really is the perfect classic costume and I know that I would want to wear my Mary Poppins dress over and over again, not just on the big day!
